“People are trapped in history. And history is trapped in them.”
~ James Baldwin, Author
Our primary developmental movements such as reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling are the intrinsic basis for every move and gesture we make throughout our lives.
By paying attention to how we move in relationship to each other we will become aware of the unconscious expressive choices we make daily. This awareness presents us with choices of how we interpret and respond to others, enabling us to shape how we move through our lives.
This workshop encourages childlike exploration and learning through action, in the form of a mini lecture, interactive discussion and lively, movement-based-play. We will be learning in action, from micro-movements to moving fully throughout the room.
We will focus on difference, not as a barrier, but rather as an opportunity for connection with each other. My wish for this workshop is to help increase our sense of compassion for each other and for ourselves.
This workshop is open to everybody 18+
